Year 3 classes:

  • Cadgwith – Gavin Morris
  • Porthcurno – Natasha Anderson / Hannah Greenwood

Welcome back to the new school year! This term we are learning about the Dark Ages.

Year3

We are learning about the Vikings. We followed a recipe and made Viking bread. Next week we are going to The National Maritime Museum, in Falmouth,  to learn about the seafaring Vikings and how they conquered the seas.

Year3

This year we will be doing the harvest assembly. In preparation for this we have produced some art work using paint and pastels. We are starting to learn songs and poems to recite for our parents.

Year3

In English, we have been focusing on poetry. We have been learning about rhyme and adapting the poem 'Imagine' with our own ideas. Next week we will be writing a poem about volcanoes, which links to our topic.

Year3

As part of our topic, 'Were the Dark Ages Dark?' we have learnt about where the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings came from and where they settled. We are learning about the geography of Iceland, crime and punishment in the Dark Ages and the story of Beowulf.
