Year 2 Classwork

Year 2 classes:

  • Porthmeor – Kylie Combellack
  • Godrevy – Leanna Brokenshire

Welcome back to the new school year! In year two we have been learning about Lifecycles.

Year2

As part of our topic on Lifecycles, we kept caterpillars in both classrooms. We really enjoyed watching the caterpillars develop through each stage of the lifecycle. It took quite a while for the cocoons to become Butterflies. We learnt that this process is called Metamorphisis. We fed our butterflies fruit and sugar water until it was time to set them free.

Year2

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Newqauay. We observed red pandas, lions and penguins in a habitat. During our trip we were really lucky to have a talk from Dave, who showed us lots of bones and a snake skin as well as living cockroaches. The most fascinating artefact was the turle shell -we could have fitted in it!

Year2

As well as learning about lifecycles, we explored the topic of healthy eating. We know that we need a balanced diet and lots of exercise. We had a fun DT day making smoothies with Mr Davey. Our parents loved sampling the delights!
