This term our topic is ‘Let’s Celebrate’. The topic will explore celebrations which happen in their own families, communities and beyond. The conclusion of the unit will be a party including party food, party games, dance and music which have been developed throughout the topic.

In Literacy we made and wrote a recipe for ‘coconut barfi’ to celebrate Diwali. Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, happens all around the world in October or November. The children are given sweets to help celebrate Diwali.

Our ‘Move It’ TASC day was really fun! Both Year 1 classes paired up with their buddy class and worked together to create a lots of exciting moving models. The children used their imagination to create excellent models of fireworks, sleighs and more!
